Types of scarring (examples)

  • Stretch marks: a form of scar tissue where the skin has torn; mature stretch marks are often lighter and flatter, while immature stretch marks may be red, raised, itchy or uncomfortable.
  • Raised scars: hypertrophic or keloid scars can appear rope-like and extend beyond normal tissue.
  • Atrophic scars: sunken/pitted scars, often linked with collagen destruction from inflammatory conditions such as acne.

  • DMK scar revision programs are described as beginning and ending with skin-strengthening Enzyme Therapy, supported by nourishing Home Prescriptive products.
  • Programs may include a preparation phase (often supported by home care and supplements), then a peel/remodelling phase to reduce a large percentage of the scarred area, followed by refining work to guide the remodelling process.

  • Enzyme Therapy: Works to oxygenate, detoxify and revise the skin to function as a young, healthy skin does. DMK notes scar revision programs begin and end with skin strengthening Enzyme Therapy treatments and nourishing Home Prescriptive products.

  • pH Revision Treatment: Designed to swell, soften and dissolve redundant tissue, and described by DMK as working well to revise scarring (as well as pigmentation, ageing and acne). Used within some scar revision programs to help control the remodelling process.

  • Pro Alpha Peel: A non-invasive resurfacing peel procedure designed to reveal a younger complexion in less than a fortnight. DMK describes that old damaged skin tightens, lifts and peels away to reveal younger-looking, smoother, optimally functioning skin, with peel strength tailored to the individual.

  • Prozyme: Formulated to remove dead skin cells for softer, clearer skin and may be alternated with Enzyme Therapy and pH Revision treatments as part of refining work to control the remodelling process.
